RLDP Fundamental Question

What does it take to successfully pastor a multiracial church in today's America?

"It’s not the congregation. It’s the leader that sets the tone—good or bad."

Catholic Priest (RLDP)

“If we don’t look at the scriptures through the lens of this multi-ethnicity, even in the 1st century—let alone the 21st century—then we’ll completely miss out what a disciple is to be.”

Evangelical Pastor (RLDP)

"This is beautiful. To be one church family pleases the heart of the Lord."

Evangelical Pastor (WSJ 10/14/2014)

“We must face the sad fact that at 11 o’clock on Sunday morning…we stand in the most segregated hour of America.”

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The Religious Leadership and Diversity Project (RLDP) is a national study of multiracial church pastors. This project sought to understand the roles and experiences of multiracial church head clergy; and how they develop, sustain, and guide their congregations. The RLDP is producing the first-ever comprehensive body of knowledge about leaders of racially diverse churches in the United States.
